Notary Fees
Tex. Gov't. Code Ann. § 406.024 sets out the maximum fees a Notary Public, or their employer, may charge for notary public services.
Notaries Public may charge the following fees:
Taking the acknowledgment or proof of any deed or other instrument in writing, for registration, including certificate and seal:
(1) for the first signature $ 10.00
(2) for each additional signature $ 1.00
Administering an oath or affirmation with a certificate and seal $ 10.00
All certificates under seal not otherwise provided for $ 10.00
Copies of all records and papers in the Notary Public's office, for each page $ 1.00
Taking the depositions of witnesses, for every 100 words $ 1.00
Swearing a witness to a deposition, certificate, seal, and other business connected with taking the deposition $ 10.00
All notarial acts not provided for $ 10.00
All Mobile Services – Time and Expense Fees Apply (travel fees):
Travel fees are not specified in the law. Such fees are proper only if the notary and signer(s) agree beforehand on the amount to be charged. The signer must understand that a travel fee is neither required nor specified in the law and is separate from the notarial fees described herein. Travel fees start out at $40.00 on the weekdays plus $1.00 per mile over a 10-mile radius from the mobile notary (for reference I am located within the 76904 zip code). Rates vary depending on the time of day and distance traveled. Travel fees will be discussed prior to departure for your requested service.
Additional Mobile Fee Information:
Though not specifically mentioning notaries as state officers in the statute, Texas law requires 'state officers' to bill clients for all expenses. Therefore, we will always prepare a detailed bill for any services we perform as a notary public. We will discuss our fees with our signer before performing the notarial act to avoid confusion or conflict. ZIJ mobile notary services will provide a written receipt for any fees charged, completely separating any non-notary fees such as travel expenses (time and expense) from the actual notary fees charged.
Due and Payable Upon Receipt:
After Zach and the client agree on a set fee based on services; ALL fees are due and payable prior to service rendered. Clients will receive an itemized invoice and receipt. Escrow or loan cancellations have no bearing on the payment of fees. ZIJ Mobile Notary Service prefers Cash or Zelle, Venmo and CashApp are available but will incur a $3.00 service charge. Payment arrangements must be made in advance of services at the time of scheduling appointments.
Mobile Service Fee: Weekdays – Monday thru Friday
(Tom Green County within 10 mile radius from Notary; additional fee of $1.00 per mile over 10 mile radius)
1PM-2PM = $40 travel fee, plus 30 TAC notarization fee
5PM-9PM = $40 travel fee, plus 30 TAC notarization fee
Mobile Service Fee: Weekends – Saturday & Sunday
(Tom Green County within 10 mile radius from Notary; additional fee of $1.00 per mile over 10 mile radius)
8AM-5PM = $50 travel fee, plus 30 TAC notarization fee
After Hour Appointments are available but will incur additional fees depending on the time and day of the appointment, please contact me for a free quote!
Additional Services Offered:

Jurat/Acknowledgement Stamp(s) (for when the document does not include a Notary Block) = $25 per stamp

Pick up/Drop off documents = $30 FedEx, UPS, USPS overnight, USPS Priority Mail, clients’ location, third party location, etc. (does not include shipping fees)

Rush Fee = $50 (applies when services are requested less than two (2) hours from the time of telephone call, email, or other communication requesting service)

Wait Fees = $30 per 15 minute increments [0-15, 15-30, 30-45, 45-60]

Fuel Surcharge Fee = $25 (applicable for appointments outside Tom Green County, Texas)

Mileage cost = $1.00 per mile driven (applicable when over 10-mile radius or otherwise specified)
